Music

An extensive list of prominent musicians from North Florida has been compiled by Jacksonville musician Michael Fitzgerald (Chain of Fools).  Take a look at the North Florida Music Hall of Fame.

Here are a few music cues for your enjoyment.

Tiny's Original Tune (mp3)(500k) by Juan Paxety and the Minorcan Mob , (c)(p) 1999 John E. Simmons, a humerous tune with vocals sampled from Little Bobby Lee's answering machine.

Turmoil and Stress (mp3) (862k) (c)(p) 2002 John E. Simmons, a cue from a marketing video produced for LifeStream This was originally written as a round of sevens - 7/4 time, seven samples (all from a Korg synthesizer), seven measure phrases all arranged to shift from one part to the next.

Just For You (mp3) (3.5mb) by The Christal River Band, (c)(p) 1985 Abound Music Company. This is one cut from an album recorded in January, 1985 at Paul Hornsby's Muscadine Studios in Macon, Georgia. Jimmy Denney wrote the song, and I wrote the horn parts and played tenor trombone and bass trombone.  The other band members were Jay Reppert, vocals, Jimmy Denney guitar and backup vocals, Rhea Sama guitar and backup vocals, Wayne Moore bass, Steve Luther drums, David Jones backup vocals,  and the late Donn Finney on saxophone and the late Larry Finney on trumpet. The band has a myspace page here.
