1. Personal appearances. One author of an ecookbook gave cooking demonstrations and sent out news releases to local media beforehand.
2. Another author did a ten-day blog tour, and promoted the tour on her own blog beforehand. Each day she linked that days review on Facebook and Twitter.
3. One author with many ebooks printed folding cards that look like gift certificate cards sold in grocery stores. The outside of the card was the books cover, and inside were a couple of blurbs and a link for a free download from Smashwords.
4. Other authors report that nothing specific seems to spike sales, but by regular promotion on Facebook and Twitter, their sales gradually increase.
